The Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics is home to the Center for Bioinformatics & Molecular Biostatics (CBMB) whose mission and services are outlined below. The CBMB is led by Dr. Mark Segal and includes faculty both in the department and in other UCSF research groups and affiliates.
- To provide data, analytic and statistical support to UCSF investigators engaged in molecular biologic, genomic and genetics research projects.
- To devise, implement and disseminate novel statistical methodologies appropriate to such studies.
- To forge links and collaborations with existing and emerging UCSF entities engaged in such endeavors.
- To aid training in the application and interpretation of these data analytic techniques in concert with existing UCSF courses such as those offered under the Program in Quantitative Biology and Biological and Medical Informatics Graduate Program.
We offer collaborative support for molecular biologic and genetics projects including assistance with:
- Study design
- Grant preparation
- Data analysis
Our consulting services are available through the CTSI's Biomedical Informatics Program.
