Title: Analyzing epidemiologic and demographic data to model tuberculosis control in California
Summary: Tuberculosis is a communicable disease with complex epidemiology and natural history, making estimation of the efficacy of test and treat strategies difficult, due to both data needs and modeling structure. This talk will describe our recent experiences with adapting diverse epidemiologic and demographic data to the needs of an individual-based stochastic simulation model to evaluate the potential effects of intensified tuberculosis control in California. We will also discuss implications for a model to determine cost-effectiveness of different contact investigation strategies.
