Cell-to-Society Drivers of Preterm Birth: Leveraging Lived to Laboratory Experience

Laura Jelliffe-Pawlowski, PhD, MS, is associate professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and associate director of discovery and precision health for the UCSF California Preterm Birth Initiative. She and her team work to identify new tools, tests and technologies to help identify pregnant women and babies at increased risk of preterm birth and associated birth defects and developmental delays. She has a particular focus on and interest in work that leverages serum-based markers to help predict outcomes and identify inroads for intervention.
