Title: Does it take a village to get active? Physical activity and social support for mothers - trajectory, mixed methods, and intervention analyses
Summary: For many women, becoming a mother is a significant life event that impacts their physical activity levels. In this dissertation talk, Ms. Mascarenhas will present results on the impact of birth and time since birth on longitudinal trajectories of physical activity. She will discuss barriers and facilitators of physical activity for women diagnosed with gestational diabetes identified using mixed methods. Lastly, she will present results from a randomized trial testing an 8-week virtual exercise group paired with mobile exercise apps for mothers.
