Register Now! The UCSF 2019 Data Colloquium for Researchers is on November 6, 2019 on the Mission Bay campus.

Join us for a morning plenary and afternoon breakouts, as we hear from leaders and researchers across UCSF. This year, in addition to pragmatic information on how to use and access data for research, we will introduce new data assets and tools and we’ll cover topics including population health, endeavors in the digital health space, and more.

Here’s a peek at the draft agenda (subject to change)

9:00 - 11:45 am Morning Plenary

  • Talmadge King, Atul Butte, Robert Wachter, Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, and Lindsey Criswell speak about UCSF research with data science today and tomorrow, our new digital collaboratory, and emerging population health initiatives
  • Select UCSF researchers present their work with many forms of patient data, and how they got it done

11:45 am -12:30 pm Lunch

  • Including time to speak with experts on specific topics and get help, provide feedback, make connections

12:30 - 3:30 pm Breakout Sessions

Pragmatic sessions for novices and more technical experts, including demos of tools and lessons to ensure you don’t re-invent the wheel - and get to data the fastest way.  These include resources and specialized services & talent to:

  • Plan your research
  • Select from a set of hosting options, on premise or in the cloud
  • Get de-identified clinical EHR data, using the latest Clinical Data Warehouse
  • Extract information from clinical notes using Natural Language Processing
