Who is most vulnerable? Interpretable causal machine learning for environmental justice

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently set the goal to achieve environmental justice by addressing disparities in adverse human health effects from air pollution exposure. The intricate causal, statistical, and data-related issues required to tackle this goal will be presented. The ongoing and future efforts to address environmental inequities and enhance population and pediatric health will also be discussed.
