The UCSF Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Rose Mayeda, PhD, will join the department in July 2026. Dr. Mayeda comes to UCSF from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, where her research has focused on population health, aging, and health equity, with a strong emphasis on rigorous epidemiologic methods and addressing structural drivers of health disparities.
Dr. Mayeda is a graduate of the UCSF Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, where she completed both her PhD and postdoctoral fellowship. We are delighted to welcome Dr. Mayeda back to UCSF and look forward to the contributions she will make to our research, teaching, and mentorship community.
