This seminar will explore Dr. Lucía Abascal Miguel's innovative work at the intersection of implementation science, health communication, and community-partnered research to address health inequities. Drawing on her experience working with indigenous and underserved populations in the Americas, Dr. Abascal highlights how individual behavior change and system-level interventions can be combined to drive meaningful progress in public health. She will discuss her proposed K01 research to adapt and pilot a culturally tailored intervention aimed at empowering Indigenous and rural women in Mexico to achieve their reproductive health goals. The talk will also outline her broader vision for leveraging interdisciplinary approaches and emerging technologies to promote health equity on a global scale.
