Epi Tools Workshop with Tarik Benmarhnia
Understanding the determinants of disparities in health can be particularly useful to orient specific interventions to reduce such disparities. In this workshop, we will introduce different decomposition techniques i.e. methods to evaluate what fraction of an inquality is due to specific hypothetical mechanisms or explanations including the Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition and causal mediation analyses. We will cover different applied examples related to perinatal or environmental epidemiology to illustrate how to conduct such analyses and interpret the results.
