We conducted a cluster-randomized trial invoiving releases of wMel-infected A. aegypti mosquitoes for the control of dengue, a mosquito-borne viral disease, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. While our intention-to-treat (ITT) analysis of the trial data found the protective efficacy of the intervention was 77.1%, appyling a spatioteporal framework to evaluate the distribution of cases by intervention arm returns compelling evidence that the full intervention effect may be even larger.
