Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are a diverse group of molecules often treated as a single homogeneous factor. Our research has found that a sub-class of NSAID have additional effects on inflammation pathways related to Alzheimer’s disease. Using cell and animal research we have established therapeutic potential of this sub-class of NSAIDs and utilising innovative statistical methods we have also demonstrated that the use of these NSAIDs is associated with slowed cognitive decline in Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment.
