The recent formalization of the transportability framework presents a promising opportunity to improve the translation of evidence from clinical trials into real-world impact.  In this talk, I discuss how transportability theory can be used to address a variety of salient and ubiquitous challenges in health research.  I apply these methods to address several questions regarding the implementation of HIV preexposure prophylaxis.
