In this seminar sponsored by the department’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, Professor David Bowles and writer Brandon Loran Maxwell will share their perspectives on the origin of the term Latinx, how it is misused, and why preference for the term varies by generation and region or country of origin. The seminar aims to inspire an in-depth discussion on the complexity of the term and provide clarity on what should be considered when deciding if and when to use Latinx.
