The DREAM Lab and the Greater Bay Area Cancer Registry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) has 1-2 openings for 2-3 year post-doctoral fellowship positions. We are seeking individual(s) to conduct population-based research in cancer disparities, including surveillance research using cancer registry and other data and hypothesis-driven research using large, multilevel and/or integrated datasets. Postdoctoral candidates must possess a doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, MD, or equivalent) in epidemiology or a related field. Strong quantitative analytical and writing skills are required. Research experience in social determinants of health, disparities, social and behavioral sciences, health policy, molecular and genetic epidemiology, geography, and/or demography is desirable. Methodological expertise in multilevel modeling and geospatial or geostatistical analyses is also highly desirable. Experience in SAS, R, or Stata is required. Fellows will be expected to conduct statistical analyses, publish first- and co-authored manuscripts, present findings at national conferences, and prepare grant applications to establish research independence. They will benefit from a strong mentorship team, led by DREAM Lab faculty Drs. Scarlett Lin Gomez, Iona Cheng, Salma Shariff-Marco, and scientist, Mindy DeRouen. They will work closely with the DREAM Lab team including research data analysts, GIS analysts, data scientists, biostatisticians, program managers, study coordinators, and bilingual interviewers.

Salaries are competitive and will be commensurate with the applicants’ experience and training. Additional funding is available for travel, presentations, and research expenses.
